Bernard SARRETTE (1765-1858) the founder of the Conservatoire de musique. P.S. as Commander of the Music of the National Guard, Paris 10 May 1793; 1 page folio, vignette and letterhead Municipality of Paris. Département des Gardes-Nationales-Parisiennes (small stains, split fold repaired).

Certificate for Nicolas Jacquemart who "served as a Musician in the Corps de Musique de la Garde Nationale Parisienne", and who enlisted in September 1792 "voluntarily in the contingent provided [...] by the armed Section of Molière and La Fontaine, to repel the enemy from the Territory of the Republic"... The document is certified on the back and signed by the members of the Committee of the Section Molière and La Fontaine (ink stamp). A L.A.S. from his son Jules Sarrette, 1887 is attached.
