Map of western France and northwestern Spain. D wo cartouches. In the northwest, a carton: the port of Lorient from 174 With Blauet or Port-Louis (added). In 1616, the marshal of Brissac was charged to build a fortress and a new city in Blavet and to establish a commercial port there. From then on, this place was called Port-Louis, after of King Louis XIII. The foundation of Lorient dates back to 1616 but the confirmation of the name an edict of 1738.
