ORIGINAL EDITION of this collection of poems, published in 1883 in Nevers. Printed at 200 copies in 2 series A on laid paper and series B on vellum and 12 copies on Japon. Our copy is series A 1 on laid paper. With a handwritten note from the author signed "This is my own copy, the first one to come out of the presses of the Rep. of Nevers, which I intend to keep as a souvenir and which should not be lent or given away, so if it is found elsewhere than at my place, it will be stolen from me". And an autograph letter signed by the author and dated 1929 "Quarante six après! remis pour son petit noël au bibliophile Théo Angbacher en souvenir de Georges Courteline par leur ami commun" accompanied by an autograph letter signed for some corrections.
