Rare pair of two-shot, single-barrel pistols by Lepage. Damascus ribbon, hairline barrels. Flat-bodied locks signed "LEPAGE A PARIS" and flat-bodied hammers chased with foliate scrolls. Finger rests and opening caps decorated en suite. Walnut stocks, finely carved with a semispot of scales and shells on the front of the short shafts. Silver thumb pieces. Length 37 cm. B.E. (cracks to the wood under one of the locks). Circa 1840. Presented in a later box with accessories, oiler, mallet, primer dispenser, spring remover, bullet mold, powder flask.
