Religious calligraphy, Ottoman Turkey, 19th century, signed 'Ali al-Wasfi after Hussein al-Jubali. Calligraphy on paper of 18 lines of naskhi Arabic in black ink, the text, extracted from Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, punctuated with floral medallions illuminated in gold and polychrome. The last line indicates that calligrapher 'Ali al-Wasfi copied the text from a calligraphy by Hussein al-Jubali. Mounted as an album page on card stock with bluish border and orange margin. Framed. Sight size of calligraphy: 19 x 9.4 cm; frame size: 31.5 x 21.5 cm Mottling, ink stains, discoloration in the margin, small lack in the upper right corner, traces of mounting in the margin.
